Frequently Asked Questions
Custom Order Process
What information do I need to provide for my first custom T-shirt or teamwear order?
For your first enquiry, you may provide the following information: product type, order quantity, expected delivery date, garment colour, size breakdown, print position, artwork or logo files, and your budget range if available.
If you do not have all the details yet, you can also share your general idea first. Based on your purpose, quantity and timeline, ZOVO can suggest suitable products, materials, printing methods and quotation options.
What is the usual custom order process?
The usual custom order process includes: enquiry and information collection, product and printing method confirmation, quotation, mockup preparation, artwork and payment confirmation, sample arrangement, bulk production after sample approval, quality checking, and finally delivery or pickup.
The actual process may vary depending on the product type, quantity, printing method and timeline. In general, we will only arrange sampling or production after the quotation, artwork and payment have been confirmed.

Can you help with layout if I do not have a finished design?
Yes. If you already have a logo, text content or a general design direction, ZOVO can assist with simple layout adjustments, such as logo placement, text size, artwork proportion and print position.
If a complete design needs to be created from scratch, an additional design fee may apply depending on the complexity of the design.
Can I see a mockup before production?
Yes. After confirming the product, colour, print position and artwork information, we can prepare a mockup for your confirmation.
The mockup is mainly used to show the artwork placement, size proportion and overall visual direction. As screen colours, fabric materials and actual printing methods may vary, the mockup cannot fully represent the final physical product colour.
Can I make a sample before bulk production?
Yes. Most products and printing methods can be sampled before bulk production. Sampling is suitable for orders with higher requirements, larger quantities, corporate uniforms, brand products, or projects that require confirmation of the actual product effect.
In general, after the order and payment are confirmed, we can arrange one free sample for customer confirmation. The sampling time, sample arrangement and whether sampling is applicable will depend on the product style, printing method and order requirements.
Can I change the design or quantity after production has been confirmed?
Once production has been confirmed, if materials have been ordered, printing screens have been prepared, the sample has been approved or bulk production has started, changes to the design, colour, quantity or sizes generally cannot be made.
Therefore, before production begins, we will ask customers to confirm the product details, sizes, colours, print positions, artwork size and mockup. Production will only proceed after all details have been confirmed.
What payment methods do you accept?
For general orders, a 50% deposit is required before sampling or bulk production begins. After bulk production is completed, the remaining 50% balance must be paid before we arrange delivery or pickup.
ZOVO supports various payment methods, including FPS, bank transfer, cheque and telegraphic transfer. Customers may also pay at our store by credit card, Octopus and other mobile payment methods. Our online shop also accepts credit cards and other electronic payment methods.
We also accept Government Purchasing Card payments. If your company, school or organisation has a specific payment procedure, please contact us to discuss the arrangement.
If you require an official quotation, invoice or receipt, please let us know before placing the order. We will prepare the relevant documents according to the order details. For more information, please refer to our Payment Method page.
Pricing, Quantity and Quotation
How much does custom T-shirt production usually cost?
The cost of custom T-shirt production depends on several factors, including garment style, fabric, quantity, printing method, artwork size, print position, number of colours and delivery timeline.
In general, the larger the quantity, the lower the average unit price. Larger artwork, multiple print positions and more complex production methods will usually increase the cost. The most accurate price will depend on the actual order requirements.
What information is needed for a quotation?
To provide a more accurate quotation, we recommend providing the product type, quantity, size breakdown, garment colour, artwork file, print position, artwork size, delivery date and whether delivery is required.
You can also check the price directly through the ordering system on the ZOVO website. After entering the quantity and selecting the relevant production method, the system will display the corresponding price. For more accurate or more complex quotations, please contact our customer service team.
What is the price difference between 10 pcs, 100 pcs and 500 pcs?
In general, the higher the order quantity, the lower the average unit price, as certain fixed costs can be spread across more products, such as layout preparation, screen setup, print preparation and production arrangement.
For ready-stock apparel products, orders starting from 10 pcs can already enjoy bulk custom pricing. As the quantity increases, the average unit price will decrease further. Orders of 100–500 pcs are usually considered larger bulk orders and will enjoy more favourable pricing. For orders above 500 pcs, we recommend contacting our customer service team directly for a more accurate quotation.
What is the minimum order quantity?
The minimum order quantity depends on the product style, printing method and stock availability. In general, ready-stock apparel products start from around 10 pcs, while most fully custom apparel products start from around 50–80 pcs.
The MOQ for other products varies by product type. Some products may start from 100 pcs to 1000 pcs or above. Please refer to the MOQ stated on each product page. If you are unsure which product is suitable for your quantity, we can provide recommendations based on your actual needs.
Can I order just one piece?
Yes. ZOVO provides one-piece printing service, and customers can place orders through our online ordering system.
However, the available products and printing methods for one-piece orders are more limited than bulk production, and the average unit price will be higher. For team, company, school or event orders, we generally recommend bulk production, as it offers more product and production options and a more suitable cost structure.
Is there an additional charge for urgent orders?
Urgent orders may require an additional charge, depending on the quantity, product, printing method, artwork complexity, production schedule and required delivery time.
For ready-stock apparel with added printing, some orders may be completed within 1–3 working days. Whether this can be arranged depends on product stock, printing method, artwork details and production schedule. We recommend providing complete information as early as possible, including quantity, artwork, sizes and deadline, so that we can assess feasibility and whether an urgent order surcharge is required.
Can you recommend options based on my budget?
Yes. If you have a budget range, ZOVO can recommend suitable products, materials and printing methods based on your quantity, usage and timeline.
For example, even for the same team T-shirt order, different fabrics, printing methods and artwork sizes can affect the cost. We can help you balance budget, product quality and delivery timeline.
Printing Methods and Production Techniques
What is the difference between screen printing, DTF heat transfer, DTG, sublimation and embroidery?
Screen printing is suitable for larger quantities, fewer colours and simple artwork. It is cost-effective and durable for bulk production.
DTF heat transfer is suitable for colourful artwork, gradients, detailed designs and small to medium-sized orders. It is a flexible and commonly used method for full-colour designs.
DTG printing is suitable for detailed colour artwork on selected cotton garments. The result is closer to printing directly onto the fabric, but it is affected by the fabric composition and garment colour.
Sublimation is suitable for specific materials and products, such as quick-dry fabrics, sportswear, towels, bags and certain full-print products. It produces vivid colours and is also suitable for large-area designs.
Embroidery is suitable for logos, polo shirts, jackets, caps and premium uniform effects. It has a more three-dimensional and durable finish.
Which printing method is suitable for full-colour artwork?
If the artwork is full-colour, gradient-based, photo-style or contains many colours, DTF heat transfer, DTG or sublimation are usually more suitable full-colour printing methods.
If the artwork has fewer colours and the order quantity is large, screen printing may also be considered. The actual recommendation will depend on the artwork details, fabric, quantity, budget and usage.
Which printing method is most cost-effective for bulk team T-shirts?
If the quantity is large and the artwork contains fewer colours, screen printing is usually more cost-effective and suitable for bulk team T-shirt production.
If the artwork is full-colour, gradient-based or highly detailed, DTF heat transfer may be more flexible. ZOVO will recommend the most suitable method based on your quantity, artwork, fabric and budget.
Which products are suitable for logo embroidery?
Logo embroidery is commonly used on polo shirts, shirts, jackets, caps, bags and corporate uniforms. Compared with printing, embroidery has a more three-dimensional look and is suitable for products that require a more professional, durable or premium appearance.
However, embroidery may not be suitable for artwork that is too detailed, contains too many gradient colours or is overly complex. Before embroidery, the logo usually needs to be assessed to see whether it is suitable for digitising into an embroidery file.
Will large-area printing affect comfort?
It may. Large-area printing increases the covered area of the artwork, and some printing methods may reduce breathability when applied over a large area, making the garment feel thicker or less breathable.
If the product is intended for outdoor activities, sports or summer use, we may recommend controlling the artwork size or choosing a more suitable fabric and printing method.
Artwork and Design Files
What file format is required for artwork?
The ideal file formats are AI, PSD, PDF, EPS or high-resolution PNG. These formats are more suitable for print layout and resizing.
If you only have a JPG file or a mobile image, you can also send it to us for checking. We will assess whether the resolution is sufficient and whether the file needs to be adjusted or redrawn.
Can a low-resolution logo be printed?
If the logo resolution is too low, the final print may appear blurry, pixelated or unclear around the edges. In this case, we would recommend providing a higher-resolution file or redrawing the logo.
Checking the artwork quality before printing is important, as the file quality directly affects the final product result.
Can AI-generated images be printed?
Yes, but the resolution of AI-generated images may not be sufficient for large-size printing. When the artwork needs to be enlarged, it may appear blurry, unclear around the edges or lack sufficient detail.
To improve the printing result, we recommend the following:
- Generate only the artwork that needs to be printed, rather than generating the artwork together with a garment mockup.
- If possible, generate the artwork with a transparent background, as this is more suitable for layout and print preparation.
- If possible, use AI tools or image software to convert the artwork into a vector graphic or enhance it to a higher-resolution version.
In addition, if the image content involves copyright, trademark, portrait rights or other legal risks, ZOVO reserves the right to refuse printing of the relevant artwork.
Can you help redraw a logo?
Yes, depending on the complexity of the logo. If it is simple text, lines or basic graphics, we can usually assist with the file preparation. If the logo is more complex, an additional redrawing or design fee may apply.
A redrawn file will be more suitable for printing, production and future reuse.
Should artwork be prepared in CMYK or RGB?
For digital printing methods such as DTF, DTG and sublimation, CMYK colour mode is generally recommended. However, if you only have RGB files, we can still check and process them.
For screen printing and embroidery, physical colour matching is more important, and whether the artwork file is in CMYK or RGB is not the only standard. If you can provide a Pantone colour code or physical sample, colour matching will be more accurate.
Please note that screen displays use RGB, while physical printing is affected by fabric, ink, production method and lighting. Therefore, the final colour may differ from what you see on screen.
Is a Pantone colour code required?
Not necessarily. If you have strict brand colour requirements, such as for a company logo, brand event or specified uniform colour, we recommend providing a Pantone colour code or physical sample for reference.
If no Pantone colour code is available, we can provide an approximate result based on the existing file and garment colour, but we cannot guarantee an exact match with the colour shown on screen.
Is the mockup exactly the same as the final product?
The mockup is mainly used to confirm artwork placement, size proportion, layout direction and overall visual effect. It does not represent the final physical product 100%.
The actual product will be affected by garment fabric, colour, printing method, artwork file and production conditions. If you have high requirements for colour and texture, we recommend making a sample before bulk production.
Sizes, Colours and Materials
Can I mix different sizes in one order?
Yes. Most team orders can include mixed sizes, such as S, M, L, XL and other sizes. Customers can provide the size breakdown before confirming the order.
Different products may have different size charts, so we recommend checking the size chart of the selected style before placing an order.
Can I mix different garment colours in one order?
It depends on the product style, stock availability and printing method. Some products can be ordered in mixed garment colours, but if different artwork colours, print settings or production methods are involved, pricing and MOQ may vary.
Please provide the required colours and quantities first, and we will confirm whether they can be combined in the same order.
Is the size chart always accurate?
The size chart is an important reference for choosing sizes, but slight measurement differences may occur due to different batches, fabrics and production methods. This is normal in garment production.
If you have strict size requirements, we recommend checking a physical sample first or allowing some flexibility when choosing sizes.
Will the website product colours be different from the actual products?
There may be colour differences. Different screens, lighting conditions, fabric batches and colour display settings can all cause the product image to look different from the actual item.
If colour accuracy is important, we recommend referring to a physical sample, providing a specified colour code, or making a sample before bulk production.
Delivery and Pickup
How long does production usually take?
The production lead time depends on the product, quantity, printing method, artwork complexity and production schedule.
For regular orders, sampling usually takes around 7–9 working days. After the sample is approved, bulk production usually takes around another 7–9 working days. Different products and production methods may require different lead times. The actual timeline will be based on the quotation and confirmed arrangement.
If you have a specific event date or deadline, we recommend enquiring as early as possible so that we can assess whether the timeline can be arranged.
When does the production time start?
The production time usually starts after the quotation, artwork, size breakdown and payment have all been confirmed.
If the artwork has not been confirmed, the size breakdown is incomplete, payment has not been completed, or there are still details to be changed, the production timeline may be postponed.
Do you provide delivery?
Yes. For bulk orders of 10 pcs or above, ZOVO includes free local delivery within Hong Kong.
In general, products will be shipped directly from the factory by courier or logistics service to the Hong Kong address provided by the customer. If you need delivery to a school, office, event venue or specific address, please let us know during the quotation stage so that we can arrange it accordingly.
For delivery outside Hong Kong, we can also provide a separate courier or logistics quotation. Please contact us for details.
Can I pick up at your store or arrange handover at a specific location?
Store pickup can be arranged, but we do not provide handover at MTR stations or at specific times and locations.
In general, we recommend delivering directly to the customer’s address, especially for larger or heavier orders, as delivery is usually more convenient and reliable.
Can I specify a delivery date?
You may request a specific delivery date, and we will assess whether it is feasible based on the product, quantity, production method and production schedule.
If your order is for a fixed event date, such as a school event, company event or competition, we recommend providing the date as early as possible. We also recommend allowing sufficient time for production and transportation, as cross-border logistics, customs clearance, weather conditions or unexpected inspections may extend the transportation time by around 1 to 7 days.
Quality and After-Sales Support
Will ZOVO check the products before shipment?
Yes. Before shipment, we will carry out a basic check according to the order details, including quantity, sizes, colours, print positions and overall appearance.
As custom products involve manual handling and production processes, a small amount of reasonable variation may occur. If there is any obvious issue, customers should contact us as soon as possible after receiving the goods.
What should I do if I find a problem after receiving the goods?
If you find an obvious issue with the quantity, sizes, printing or products after receiving the goods, please take photos and contact us as soon as possible. We will check the situation based on the order details, confirmed artwork and actual product condition.
If the issue is confirmed to be a production error, we will provide a suitable solution depending on the situation, including remaking or replacing the affected products where time and production conditions allow.
Is slight colour difference in printing normal?
Yes. Slight colour difference is normal. Printing colours can be affected by screen display, garment colour, ink, printing method, lighting and production batch.
If you have very strict colour requirements, we recommend providing a Pantone colour code, physical sample, or making a sample before bulk production.
Is slight size variation in garments normal?
Yes. Slight size variation is normal in garment production. Differences in fabric, cutting, production batch and washing may all cause minor variations.
Therefore, the size chart should be used as a reference rather than an absolute guarantee. If you have strict size requirements, we recommend confirming with a p
Can custom-made products be returned or exchanged?
As custom-made products are produced according to the customer’s specified style, colour, size, artwork and quantity, returns or exchanges are generally not accepted once production has been confirmed.
If the product has an obvious production error or does not match the confirmed order details, we will follow up according to the actual situation.
